I am a writer, blogger and photographer living in the beautiful north woods of western Wisconsin.   My latest book project was about the National Parks.  As you can imagine, I had many terrific trips in researching and writing the book.  Yet, I also relish the great "finds" that are very close to home and make travel fun for "local pride" . Sometimes it is less stressful to just take a Day Trip and not have to board a plane.

I received my BA in Journalism from the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!), but never really started pursuing my passion for writing until my 3 sons were older and on their own. Since they ended up in San Diego, Alaska and Dallas, TX., my husband and I had many journeys to those destinations to visit them.

Sharing stories about great places and memorable experiences are wonderful...but enhanced even more when I can hear your stories.  Please feel to share your stories here.  You just might be able to make someone's next travel experience that much better!
